Recent Hotel Circle Tournament

On September 11, 2010, MAI participated in the Hotel Circle tournament and did great! All of our kids placed at least once in the tournament with many of them winning multiple trophies. We are proud of how hard our students worked in preparation for this tournament and so glad that their hard work paid off. Congratulations!

Compete 2010

Compete 2010 was our first tournament for our Black Belt Club Tournament Team and the results were great! We took home a total of 13 trophies: (2) 1st places, (4) 2nd places, and (7) 3rd places. The best part was seeing our black belts support and encourage one another throughout the tournament in between their own competitions. At MAI, this is the true measure of our dojo's team spirit and leadership. Thank you to all the parents who supported us and took some great pictures of this event. Go here to see all the photos.

Summer Camps to Keep the Kids Happy!

It's summer and that means it's time for our fun, healthy summer camps! Each camp is a week long from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and all include a movie at UltraStar and pizza lunch on Friday (bring a sack lunch Monday - Thursday).

• Beginning Weapons (June 29th - July 3rd): All belt levels and friends are welcome! Learn the basics of the bo, kama, and nunchukus in a safe environment.
• Fun In the Sun (July 13th - July 17th): All belt levels and friends are welcome! Come and play with us with games, movies, and a field trip to Boomers.
• Intermediate Weapons (July 20th - July 24th): Beginning weapons experience necessary. Learn more advanced techniques with the bo, kama, and nunchukus PLUS additional weapons.
• Grappling (August 3rd - August 7th): All belt levels and friends are welcome! Learn ground fighting and wrestling techniques in a safe environment.
  

Our week long camps are $175 per student and we offer multi-camp and sibling discounts. Friends and neighbors are welcome - see our front desk to sign up.

Spring Break Out Ninja Night

Join us Saturday, May 16th for an overnight "break-out" session filled with yummy food, fun games, and great movies with your favorite Senseis. Have your parents drop you off at the dojo at 7 p.m. and ask them to pick you up at 8 a.m. the next morning. Then have a fantastic time!

Fun Filled Karate Events Coming Soon!

We've got some really cool events for the kids in the coming months!

Ninja Nights will take place on Saturdays, April 4th and June 27th! Drop the kids off at 7 pm. for a safe night of games, prizes, and dinner. They will enjoy kid-friendly movies shown on the dojo’s flat screen television. Pick the kids up at 8 am. the next morning and enjoy a night to yourselves!

A Great Black Belt Testing!

We're proud to announce the successful testing of our new black belts this past Sunday. Each student gave it their all and we'd like to congratulate them in reaching their goal of achieving their black belt. What a great accomplishment!

Afterwards, the MAI family enjoyed a wonderful potluck together on a cold, cold night! As we get more pictures of this event, we'll post them on our website and here on our blog.
